Recessed spots are the most popular choice under a canopy. They save space, prevent head bumps from a low-hanging lamp, and deliver a clean, integrated look. Which model suits you depends mainly on the beam width and available recess depth.

Surface-mounted veranda lighting

Compact, water-resistant surface-mounted spots (from IP23 and up) are a modern favourite. Unlike recessed spots, you don’t need to drill large holes—most models include a handy mounting bracket for quick installation and a tidy finish.

IP rating: match protection to the location

The IP rating indicates how well a fixture resists dust and water. Choose the protection level to match exposure:

- IP65+ – Direct water jets or heavy exposure.
- IP67+ – Temporary immersion (e.g., garden/pond use rather than veranda, but useful as a robustness reference).
